Damascus, the City of Fragrance design is inspired by the capital city of Damascus in the Levant country of Syria.

The owner of Levant 2 Australia lived in Damascus for around a year after fleeing his home city of Homs due to the Syrian War. Damascus is a beautiful city with a lot of history and ever-expanding cultural influence on the Levant region. Damascus has many landmarks including The Umayyad Mosque, Al Azem Palace, Mount Qasioun, Damascus Nation Museum, Al-Hamidiyah Souq, Citadel of Damascus, Barada River, Sayyidah Ruqayya Mosque, Shrine of Sayyida Zaynab, Khan Assad Basha Al Azem, Al Marjeh Square, Hospice Sulaymaniyah, Church of Hnanya, Mausoleum of Saladin, Mktab Anbar, Orthodox Armenian Church, Medhat Basha Souq, Bab Sharqi, Salah Al Din Statue, Bab Kisan, Nuri Bemarstan, Church of St. Paul, Umayyin Square, The Temple of Jupiter, Yalbogha Mosque, Sinan Pasha Mosque, Hanabila Mosque, St. Mary's Church, Darwish Pasha Mosque, Al Buzuriyah Souq, Cathedral of Saint George, Alsnjkdar Mosque, October War Panorama, Tishreen Park, Al-Darweeshiyah Mosque, Hammam Al Malik Al Zahir, Bab Al Faradees, Tishreen Palace, The White Lighthouse, Nairabein Park, Unknown Soldier Monument, Arwada Square, Naqshbandi Mosque, Zarzar Lake, Damascus Old City, St Ananias Chapel, Takiyya Suleimaniah Souq, St. George Syrian Orthodox Church, Fortress Wall, The Arc Gate,Souq Saroujah, Franciscan Chruch, and The Ghouta.

The Arabic calligraphy writing "دمشق الفيحاء" was translated into "Damascus, the City of Fragrance". Damascus is also known as the City of Jasmines, due to the abundance of the Jasmine flower throughout the city streets. These flowers produce a beautiful aroma that became a Damascus signature.

Arabic writing is usually viewed with suspicion and fear as many people associate it unjustifiably with terrorism. Thus, through showing the beauty of Arabic writing and Arabic calligraphy via printing it on hippie T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, tank tops, mugs, canvas, tote cotton bags, and mouse pads; we hope to change the perception of Arabic writing towards admiration and appreciation.
